Artist's Comments

Finally managed to do one of these. Slow going originally to show better what I was doing. But then it turned into an hour long file and to save everyone that pain in the ass, I compressed it to about 15 minutes.

Great vid, thanks! Can you elaborate on how you were using the lasso tool to select areas for coloring?
:iconamericanninjax:
well it's all pretty straight forward. Lasso an area. Bucket fill. I don't really do anything more than basic uses of any tool.

the excuse to subject me to it.

Nice. :) Always inspiring to see good artists do their thing.

Nicely done Matt, just wondering though are you doing all the colors and shading on one layer?? if so, how do you manage to keep the colors and shading inside when using the lasso tool and going all over the place?? i know i usually do everything on its own seperate layer and merge em after wards but if i dont got to it would be a time saver

Great job, intersting colouring and shading technique, saves hella time obviously. I was wondering if you could elaborate by adding like voice description (commentary) while the drawing action is going on for better explanation to those who really dunno how everything works in PS, as the video was small so some icons weren't showing that well.

either way great job and thanks again for the tons of help.

Very first color I drop is a base color. Something I'm unlikely to use as an actual color in the piece. Then when I make selections on that layer outside of it. The paintbucket only fills the base color area.
